Maxim Vasilyov, 49, of Brighton, was arrested per reports of his mother. Maxim suffers from schizoaffective disorder and has been off his medication for over a year. His mother reports that he has been psychotic cycling in and out of the hospital.
The National Shattering Silence Coalition has been working with Maxim’s mother for over two months, after it was reported that her son was dropped from services because “he wasn’t following the rules”. He has been threatening to “kill and rape” people, which then progressed to taking dumbells outside to “hurt people who would not listen to him because he was the creator.”
Despite calling a co-response team, contacting the Department of Mental Health and trying to reconnect Maxim to services, he remained in the community until his recent arrest. A newspaper report from 2006 indicated he was arrested for assault and battery as he attempted to knock down an acquaintance’s door and threatened to kill them.
